Past Exhibitions

My current focus is on the rural landscape. It is also my first attempt at painting
on wood panel. So far I’ve discovered that the smooth reflective surface refracts
light differently than canvas, making colours more brilliant and vibrant. The firm
consistent surface is perfect for even blending of colours and fine brushwork.

"Life & Death"

My inspiration for this  Exhibit evolved from photographs taken on a number of trips
along the coastal region of the Pacific Northwest.  Although the beauty of trees has
always appealed to landscape artists, I sometimes fail to appreciate  trees for their
greatest gift - the most important life forms on our planet. I marvel at their shape,
sculptural  features and the colour and texture of their leaves. Even in death there
is a rugged elegance about them.
